Some people are like trains. Surely, they run fast and run well but they always need a pair of guiding rail to run on. They need a structure, certainty and direction from a leader, and rely on the working environment as you get to see in a stable or big corporation. They are an epitome of followership.
On the other hand, some people are like ships. You can’t run those on rails. They are built for rough, uncertain water and not for safe harbours. Though ships come in different size and shapes and might seem as whimsical and random at the surface but deep down they are unsettling explorers.
Which type do you fall in? And which one you would fall for? How many ‘trains’ and ‘ships’ do you have in your team? Identify them so that you can treat them differently to get best of both the worlds!
